It's probably the shaft seal at the front of the water pump. Bearings are
failing. Same thing happened to me last summer.
Grab the water pump pulley (with the engine NOT running of course) move the
thing around and watch the slop.
If it's too sloppy that's your problem. Replace the water pump.
