I actually used Appliance Epoxy to black out the window frames on my two door sedan. It has held up excellent for 9 years now. It never had a real high gloss but not flat. It's like the ceramic stuff you mention, you have to recoat within the time window or it will react and lift. You have to be ready to paint and not leave the scen until you are done! I once forgot about the window and sprayed a set of valve covers a day later. What a mess! I ended up putting them back in the fire!!! Another old trick to clean off crusty gunky covers and such, Put them in a fire, watch them, the paint and crusted oild will burn right off. Clean them real good and paint them. Yeah, I know sounds like a tip out of WV! But I actuall first saw this done in PA! I thought the guy was nuts! He tossed two valve covers in a coal furnace with a wood fire going, Pulled the covers out a while later and they were spotless.
