I had the car before Tom and it did have fuel in the tank. I dropped the tank and dumped the old fuel. The tank looked pretty good with some light powdery stuff that looked like rust. Very fine powder, as I recall. I did not clean it further. I think I placed a new finger strainer type fuel filter over the fuel pickup and reassembled it with a new rubber fuel line. Then it went to Tom some weeks later. I'm getting CRS so I better start keeping a log of the work I do on some of these cars.
