Re: [Amc-list] little american again

Well, that just SUCKS!

I drove mine today, finally, $3.10 a gallon I just have a hard time cruising for no reason, bummer, gotta get over that!
My dry cell, forget the name, is croaking, rats, it only holds 11 volts. It's been starting and running fine. 13.7 on the Volt gauge, glad I bought that!. Today I stalled it in the driveway and tried to restart and it just grunted at me. I left it cool a few minutes, still nothing. I ended up sticking the charger on it. With it on the 40 amp setting by the time I walked from the back to the side of the car, got in and hit the key, it fired right up. I drove it around the back of the house to get to the workshop, tried starting it repeatedly hot and it fired every time. I guess I'm going to have to be buying a new battery. The last I saw the dry cells were running $150. Being trunk mounted I won't run any other kind. I'm not looking forward to buying a new one, but, while looking for the slip because this one had a prorated 8 year warranty. I discovered the car has been on the road 9 years under my care! I'm thinking the battery may have a few months on the warranty period, bu
 t I'll
be d#^$%d if I can find that slip :[ even a few bucks would help off a $150 battery. I'm not going to cry over the demise of it. It suffered some heavy abuse over the years, killed stone dead at least twice, I mean stone dead...
