Here's a couple other things to know about this: * I just fixed the problem with having to be logged in to read the replies to posts. * Once you register, you will be able to change some of the list settings (subscribe/unsubscribe and single message/digest mode). * The posts may take up to an hour to show up on the site (we pull messages about 10 minutes after the start of each hour) but new messages will be sent to the list immediately. Gripe to Frank and me if this isn't frequent enough. To read the list simply click on "forums" in the left hand column of the first screen, then choose AMC-List on the next screen. Posts are displayed in threads and the last reply time is listed to the right (I like that feature!). To post from the site you must create a sign-on by clicking on "create a new account" on the main page. Once you have an account you can click on "reply" (or "add a new comment" if no replies yet). You can also "post new forum topic". > > It's different than the AMX-Files. Some will like it better, some won't like it at all. Like anything else you'll get used to it after using for a while. From now on this will be the "official" web read/reply site. The AMX-Files won't be cut off -- it will be supported as long as the owner (Jim Stone) keeps it open. > > The main reason for the switch is that Matt Haas keeps up with the AMCyclopedia site and is a founder of the site as well as long-time member of the AMC-List, so it's much easier to get assistance with any problems. > > -- > Frank Swygert > Publisher, "American Motors Cars" > Magazine (AMC) > For all AMC enthusiasts > http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html > (free download available!) > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list > > > -- mhaas@xxxxxxx Cincinnati, OH http://www.mattsoldcars.com 1967 Rambler American wagon 1968 Rambler American sedan ================================================================= According to a February 2003 survey of Internet holdouts released by UCLA's Center for Communication Policy, people cite not having a computer as the No. 1 reason they won't go online. _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
