the timing jumping one tooth could VERY well be the problem. remember when i first got the car, it had 4 bent pushrods, 2 grenaded lifters? the valvetrain was real messed up. it had sticking valves and all. the guy i got it from said they tried to start it once and then gave up after it had been sitting for ever. valves stick, pushrods bend, grenade lifters, jump a tooth on the timing? sounds pretty logical to me. guess its time to tear the front off and see. the distributor is good. i had pulled it once to make sure it was right. it affected it NONE. i put it one tooth each way to see what it did. nothing. it is now back in the original position now. with the timing light, i got the timing dead on where my 62 tsm says its suposed to be. (using 62 as i dont have a 65 and im assuming they didnt change specs like that on the engine.) so, i am not goin to any shows this weekend. guess i will be tearing a front end apart off that motor to find out. i am still open to any other ideas that i may not have tried. so far thats the only thing i have seen anyone say that i have not tried. dave stohler http://picasaweb.google.com/das24rules ____________________________________________________________________________________ Get your own web address.
