A: Try a regular shock with a Jeep XJ bar pin eliminator. That's what we do for extra lifted XJs and MJs. From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> Subject: [Amc-list] Gabriel "Classic" shocks... A person answered within 4 rings! And answered actual questions! Alas that ends the good news. They have zero shocks listed as available for the 63 American. But AutoZone is their favored distributor, and the Gabriel catalog there will have compressed/extended listings, so I will go do the research there after I pull and measure one. I'm sure I can find one close enough to work. Did this with my 63 Classic (some Mustang rear shock fits perfectly). The 63 American shock is a stud on top, but a rubber bush in the bottom with special spacers and a fat bolt (it's part of the lower-arm stiffness). So that could complicate matters. The shock lower bush does look large. I'm sure I can work something out even if it means an add-on bracket for an ordinary shock. _________________________________________________________________ Watch free concerts with Pink, Rod Stewart, Oasis and more.
