Mike, One nit: Pure methane is not corrosive. It's just one carbon atom surrounded by four hydrogen atoms. It's the other components of "biogas" that are corrosive including the sulfur compounds and traces of things like chlorine in landfill gas. It'll definitely do a number on ferrous metal turbine blades and engine parts. Pretreatment of biogas is necessary to reduce the moisture compound and get out some of those bad things. Thousands of Kilowatt-hours of electric power are being generated by waste landfill gas in this country today, with both internal combustion engines and gas turbines. You still have your old copies of Mother Earth News? Somehow my old issues got away from me in the eighties. Don't know what happened to my Mother Earth Catalog either.
