Tom, Mark, just make a support bar for the front of the engine if you're not going to be rotating it. Just run it from somewhere convenient on the engine to the support leg(s) of the stand. Might need to make it a T-bar if you have a two forward leg stand. I've seen one bolted to the water pump hub on a V-8 (forget the make)so it would rotate -- it was an old pump that would be replaced before the engine was set in the car. Works well, but the rear support has to be adjusted just right. The six pump mounts way to far above the rear support, I think. If you plan on doing this some more might be worth making a plate with a pivot bolt for the front of the engine. Would be useful for building the rotating assembly. Then partially support engine with cherry picker when the front support needs to come off to assemble the front, just before putting in the vehicle. The plate would have to stand off the block far enough to allow putting the crank in, of course. _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
