AMC put a special suspension in it due to the weight of the batteries, 30 in all. It can go 65 mph for 6 hours, charging time is equal to driving time. As there is no rust on the car, sun fade, I plan on having it media blasted, replace some of the trim as pitted, the interior still has the plastic on it. My other electric car is called a comuta car, 0 miles on it, 8 hp, capable of 35 mph, all alum frame, fiberglass body ,dot approved. ugly as hell, call it mimme Why are they not on the road, well, I have a scrambler to get done, and a 79 AMX, but more so is that there is no insurance company that will insure them, I have tried all the collector companies and no luck. This has stalled my plans for an electric car conversion company which I had funding for here in northern Minn, discouraging as hell. So if you do a conversion , be aware of that, and if in an accident, they will not cover you even tho titled as gas powered, hellva a country, go green, but will not give us the green light.
