I have to agree with Andrew. If the tops of the pushrods were getting heated I'd say hollows would be a great idea. Since they aren't, you're just pushing more oil to the top of the head for no reason. Nearly all stock engines will pump more up there than needed (and usually faster than it can drain back), so you could be making the situation worse. It was probably run low on oil a few times. Check your 62 TSM and fins out which bolt the oil feeds through. Pull the rocker shaft and modify that bolt as AMC recommended for the early 232 (see http://www.mattsoldcars.com/techinfo/boltmod.shtml). That should increase oiling to the head through the shaft where it's needed. At least I seem to recall the oil going through a bolt like the old 232... --------------- Date: Sunday, April 22, 2007 10:09 AM From: andrew hay <adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> " From: d stohler <das24rules@xxxxxxxxx> " " " only reason i wanted the hollow pushrods was for the " oiling capability. i figure a little extra oil on the " rockers. i know thats a weak point in the valvetrain.
