This HEI unit I bought is new and not a salvage yard unit.  Hopefully it 
will be reliable. I  thank you all for your inputs and I will be installing 
the unit in a few days, hopefully. I am in the middle of a rear brake 
overhaul right now.  wheel cylinders, flex hose at the differential and most 
likely a rebuilt Master cylinder.
