Yes, it would be totally cool! It would save a lot of weight, and
has more modern innards. Like Frank says the later oil pump model
won't fit. And I don't have one, and I do have an engine that
most definitely fits, and runs (we'll see what internal state).

Now if I could find one intact and running etc sure, but that's
kind of a tall order. I'm in no position time- or money-wise
to embark on a big project.

Yeah, that's how I feel about it. When I do mind, I'll drive
something else.
