The 81-up aluminum manifold is a choice object. It's 15 lbs lighter than stock and has the BBD pattern, for which the "jeep weber" kit has an adapter for (egad, what a sentence). > I now have a Weber 38/38, it seems to be overkill....I've > played with the jets and cannot get more than 10 mpg city out of the > thing. Yeah, I think the 38mm primary is too big. The 32mm pri is very small, makes for great off-idle performance, then the (highly adjustable0 progressive linkage pulls the sec in perfectly. It's I think correctly sized for the 232 or 258 in more or less stock trim. I get 19mpg annual average out of mine, fairly heavy on highweay miles (65mph) with a 904 Torqueflite. I'd be surprised if I got under 16mpg city. > I just sent a crusty old 32/36 I once > had on a BMW 2002 (they seem to be popular for just about every > application) out to get rebuild this week to put back instead of the > 38/38.
