A: Beware the '91 only S10 2.5 system! We had a customer come in for a throttle body (casting #17090152 used in the later part of the year) and couldn't find the injector, overhaul kit or even a core to rebuild for it! The 2.5L turns a lot more rpm than a 258, and the 1V TBI unit flows just a bit more than a 2V BBD carb (based on total opening area). I forget the exact areas, but I measured both years ago and found the 1V TBI to be a bit larger. The 2.8L TBI unit should be a bit larger than the BBD, but since the 2.8L V-6 also turns higher than a 258, it should be a great addition. I would consider the 1V unit to be a good replacement for improved drivability and economy, but there shouldn't be a noticeable increase in power. For that you need one of the V-6 units. _________________________________________________________________ Exercise your brain!
