Snip the EFI system works the same on Renix and HO, some of the signals changed when the switch was made to the Chrysler/Phillips HO system. Snip I have the latter system (94/95 compatible) and an aftermarket tachometer hooked up to it with no problems. You just had to set the tachometer for a 4 cylinder application as the counting pulses were 4 cylinder compatible. The AMC current sensing tachometers stayed in use with I-6 cars up through the Hornet I believe. However the counting tachometers were used in 1971 for the V8's I think.
