Yes, the gas guage works fine. So that tells me that there is a break in the wire from the temp sending unit to the guage, correct? ----------------- It could be that or a bad connector on one end, or even the firewall connector. The next check is to ground out the wire on the sending unit end with the switch on. The gauge should go all the way to the top with the wire grounded. If you get nothing, I'd run a length of wire between the gauge and sending unit. If it goes up part-way when grounded, it could be dirty or loose contacts. If it doesn't move it could be the gauge itself or a break in the wire. The new wire test will tell. Ground the new wire first to see if the gauge moves to the top. If not, the gauge is faulty. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
