Dave Snip 196/flash-o-matic. i think that is the m-35 correct? Snip A yahoo search using the following information 196 +flash-o-matic will give you more than you ever wanted to know about transmissions etc. One of the web sites that will come up is the following; http://www.gremlinx.com/AMC-Transmissions.htm And all of the data you are interested in and then some will be here. Snip another question. the torque converter that would be on this. does it have a lock up rpm? if not, does anyone know what else would fit that would have a lock up on it? i do not like auto's and never have. dont know much about them. thanks for the help and time. hope everyone is having a good weekend. Snip This is an old transmission, Lock up torque converters became commonly used in the middle 70's or so. The lock up torque converter I am aware of was used by Packard in the early 50's called an Ultramatic. It was a 2 speed transmission with a lock up torque converter. It was used by Nash when they bought V8 engines from Packard the 1st 2 years they offered a V8. The next time it was used on an AMC product was on the MOPAR 727 used on the 360 V8 in 1978 and then later on the MOPAR 904/998 on the most 258 I-6 engined cars in 1980. On that old BW transmission it will not be a lock up torque converter and nothing will fit the transmission that is a lock up torque converter. And Kanter should be able to supply you with engine parts. John. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
