The Ford TBI from about 83-86 or thereabouts was found on the
T-bird/Cougar,
Mustang, Town Car, LTD/Marquis, and the LTD Crown Victoria/Grand
Marquis. The Ford TBI throttle body will directly bolt to an AMC V8
2-barrel manifold, as it has the exact same footprint as the Motorcraft
2100 carb that is ubiquitous to AMC usage. No adapter needed!

Thanks for that info Jeff!! I think the CFI system was used on 351s in
the big cars as well as 302s. The 351 system should be enough for a mild
360. 

Don't expect a big power increase with CFI if the carb is in great shape
though! What you will get is a slight increase in fuel economy (2-3 mpg)
and much easier starting and idling. There will be some power gain, but
only under adverse conditions. 

A well tuned carb is fully capable of as much power as any fuel
injection system under ideal conditions, like in the dyno room. There is
seldom more than a 5 hp difference on similar engines on a dyno, with
the only difference being a finely tuned carb and well setup EFI. The
difference comes in when it's 20 degrees in the morning and the carb has
to load up to run. The EFI will run rich for a shorter time and warm up
faster. The computer will tune the engine to run best under current
conditions. A carb cannot adapt very well to differing conditions. A
simple change in altitude will cause a carb to run rich or lean, but EFI
will adapt to conditions. Carb are generally set to run a little rich --
better to rich than to lean! EFI will run rich under "choke" and WOT,
but is adjusted closer to the ideal fuel/air ratio at other times.
