I recently moved to ceramics on the front of the XJ.
They've got anout 4,000 miles on them now.
So far I'm 100% satisfied! They are quiet as the dead. Never make a squeak or a squeal!
The rotors are staying rust free, new rotors installed same time as pads. Last, but not least there is no sign of any form of brake dust on the Canyon style aluminum wheels added 2,000 miles ago!
  I'd need to look to be sure but IIRC I bought Raybestos quiet stop ceramics. Everything came from Rockauto. New rotors and ceramic pads cost less than the quote from local shops to resurface rotors and install basic pads.
   I had a major problem with rotors rusting on this XJ due to sitting. I don't expect this ot happen again as my oldest now has his license so my wife uses the XJ as a DD, The Altima rotates between my son and I as it gets better MPG than the truck.
