Well guys, today I started check out my driveshaft and wheels for problems. I found the LH rear wheel had a wobble from being hit sometime back (previous owners). It wobbled about 1/4 to 3/8 inch . I swapped it with the spare rim, put the road tire on the spare rim and re-mounted it on the car. Better! That helped reduce my droning and vibration even more. I watched the driveshaft wobble a bit at idle speed (in drive) with the wheels off the ground. With my buddy watching the drivehsaft, I revved the engine up to 40-45 mph and the vibration showed up along with a noticeable wobble in the driveshaft. Funny thing though, when the vibration was more noticeable in the car, the driveshaft actually looked like it reduced its wobble a bit. Strange! I did hear a squeaking noise coming an going around the rear U-joint. The U-joints are new, but the yokes are not. I think I must have a bad yoke in the rear. I am going to have the driveshaft repair folks in Lakeland, FL, have a look at it in the next week or so. The car is actually getting to drive as good as a new one now. With a balanced driveline shaft and yokes, it should be great!
