Seems to me like the 56 and 57 models were the first generation AMC engines and probably the 287 or 327 engine. In 1955 they did use the Packard V8 and their Ultramatic Auto transmission. These are quite the "boats". Big and heavy iron, comfort and Continental Kits... Wow!. http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/AmericanMotors/Nash1946-1959.html should give you decent illustrations on these 56 and 57 models. May also be some pics at www.arcticboy.com. Also a number of illustrations of these on the AMC-List Archives CD which is advertised at: http://mysite.verizon.net/res79g4m/amc/index.htm ______________________________________________________________ Ralph Ausmann - Hillsboro, OR - > <ralph.ausmann@xxxxxxxxx> http://mysite.verizon.net/res79g4m/ ... and "check the links" ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom Jennings" <tomj@xxxxxxx> To: "AMC List" <amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, March 01, 2007 10:02 PM Subject: [Amc-list] 56 or 57 NASH Ambassador for sale (Los Angeles) >A friend of mine inherited a 56 or 57 Nash Ambassador in decent > running shape.
