The reverse pulse blows crap out of places in carb where it gets lodged! Works fairly well at times, but the crap usually floats back in place fairly quickly. You can achieve close to the same result by reving the engine and stuff a rag down the carb throat till it almsot dies. This method pulls some things on thru the plugged passages. Neither method really does much more than push back the time when the carb gets rebuilt and cleaned out. Sometimes it'll get you an idle and a trip home! :] Mark Price markprice242ATadelphia.net Morgantown, WV ---- "Swygert wrote: > Jim B wrote: > What drove me buggy was the idle was still all over the board, so I > crossed #2 and #5 plugwires at the cap and made it backfire (don't think > any > neighbors heard it as we left the aircleaner on) That made it FINALLY > idle > correctly so I could drop the speed down to @500 RPMs (may have to > readjust > later) and the raw gas smell is gone (it'll probably get closer to 17 > mpg > now if not better) > --------------------------- > > Okay, I'll bite -- what did making it backfire through the carb do?? > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
