I think if I were set on swapping into a 63 I would use the AMC Jeep 2.5. Get the MPI engine and it would be fairly easy for the intake to be modified/shortened/turned or whatever it takes to gain clearance. I'd look at something resembling sidedrafts or a single "carb" look.
