1974 Gremlin 232 auto, solid body original paint, interior is nice, car runs
and drives. Straight body. 1350.00 or best offer. I would consider other
AMC's to trade especially a Hornet hatch or wagon or a Rebel 2dr, or wagon.
Antique or other trades also considered. Chris, javelinjunki@xxxxxxxxx I am

Found this on E-bay. The fellow apparently has more than one, wants $20 +S&H for the kit. That's a good bit for a pan gasket, but try finding one! Go to his e-bay store if you need it. If you don't mind sealing without a gasket, get a "gasket" for an AW4 from the nearest Chrysler/Jeep dealer. They'll sell you a tube of silicone designed specifically to seal a trans pan. Regular silicone doesn't work well, don't know what the Chrysler/Jeep stuff has in it but it does work. I've used it on a T-35 before. IIRC it's not far from $20 for the tube, but you can seal 3-4 trannys with it.
-------------
AMC Rambler Transmission Gasket & Seal Kit 1962 -71 T35

This is a gasket & seal kit for a AMC Rambler T35 or T-35 automatic transmission.

Please visit our store to see more great items like this. Don't forget to check out our Bargain Basement. We combine shipping charges on multiple purchases! Creekside2 Collectibles and More (http://stores.ebay.com/Creekside2-Collectibles-and-More)

Also....Be sure to add me to your favorites list!

Need it now? Why wait for this auction to end? I sell this exact item in my Ebay store for $19.99. If you are about to bid more than $19.99 for this item, I urge you to click here to purchase it from my Ebay store: Creekside2 Collectibles and More or click on the TRANSMISSION PARTS on the left of this screen. It's easy to do, and you'll receive your item quickly, in safe packaging.

I was shocked to find that NAPA had the pan gasket and filter
for my 1963 M35! In stock! $11!

The filter was different than the screen that came out; it had a
sort of snorkel that picked up the pink juice from further back
in the pan. Otherwise identical. I had to adjust it slightly
to not press on the tubes across the bottom of the valve body.

Wow! My Christmas spirit is really up and running..................

Only thing is I'm thinkin bout myself and my AMC !!!!

I was paging through the Jeg's catalog this morning while relaxing on the
throne and I happened to page into a whole bunch of available Holley fuel
injection kits. I was sorta impressed that holley is offering so many
different versions. I was looking at the Commander series and wondering if
anyone has any experience with the throttle body 950 4 bbl kit or maybe even
the 950 kit with weld on bungs for the injectors onto user supplied
manifolds. Is the software user friendly??

Or should a guy just break down and get the Edelbrock kit with literally
everything but no interface with a laptop.

Last idea......... wait a few more months for another new kit that's even
easier and more affordable (rambler mentality) ROFL.

I sure do want to inject that bad girl, yeah, I know, my Javelin is female
wouldn't you know it. It has to be, only a female would be as persnickety
as that car is..................... but she's fun to ride!!!! er.....
drive............. sorry......................

Enjoy your last drives in your AMCs before the big snowstorms hit.

When I had the windshield replaced in my 96 XJ 5-6 years ago the glass shop told me they could still get windshield glass for 99% of the casr ever made. they used LOF glass. It seened the windshield molds are in stock and they just ordered one and its made up and shipped. Not the same for the tempered side glass though.
The guys at the glass place said the shopd that specialized in the old glass marked them up several times over and made a killing on glass any shop could get.
I'd call every glass shop in the phone book before I resorted to a specialty place.

67 Americans with 232 used a M-37, not an M-40. The M-40 was used behind the 290. It was common to use a stronger trans in HD and fleet applications, so it's very possible that the standard 290 (M-40) trans was used as the D/fleet 232 trans. The plugs are clearly seen in the 67 American TSM. The same procedures are used for the M-36, M-37, and M-40 in the TSM, but the pic I'm referring to (page 11-18, if you have a 67 American TSM handy) is identified as being from the 290 version. The M-42 didn't come out until 1970. The plugs are clearly shown on page 9-4-2 of the 70 TSM.

So either the trans was changed at some time, you thought it was a 42 but it was actually a 3x series, or you just don't remember seeing the plugs. I don't recall everything accurately all the time -- I'm sure you can recall a post or two where I've attempted to answer something from memory and have been "called out" on it! But I'm armed with books at the moment!! ;>
