The Mexican 282 I had would've LOVED an O/D with the 2.72 gears and 235/75/15 tires in my '83 Cherokee 4 dr (last of the full size Cherokees before they became Grand Wagoneers) Especially since I traveled to Canada and back from Seattle practically every weekend twice. (it would cruise at 80 but the motor was screaming pretty loud in protest) Jim Blair, Seattle, WA '84 J10 Black Jack (getting lifted and stroked!), '73 J4000 304/TH400/QT tow truck http://www.virtualjeep.com AMC list subscription options link http://www.amxfiles.com/amc-list/options.cfm From: "Swygert, Francis G MSgt 436 CES/CECM" <Francis.Swygert3@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [AMC-List] New look at an old car To: <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Message-ID: <4CC05BF0CC3F114281434B00B733E2A3035E91@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" 2.73 might be a bit much for a three speed 195.6 to pull starting off. I don't recall what the stock rear gearing was, will have to check. A four or five speed with a lower first would work well, but 2.73 wouldn't do with an OD. My 63 American with auto had 3.15 gears stock, 3.31 as the performance gears (which I had). A 3.08 might be a better choice, depending on the first gear ratio in the T-14. _________________________________________________________________ Talk now to your Hotmail contacts with Windows Live Messenger. http://clk.atdmt.com/MSN/go/msnnkwme0020000001msn/direct/01/?href=http://get.live.com/messenger/overview _______________________________________________ AMC-List mailing list AMC-List@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list or go to http://www.amc-list.com
