That is how I remebered it. You had to push or pull the pin during
bleeding to center the slide valve or it would reduce braking to the
front or rear depending on which way the valve slid. I have been through
these brakes a number of times and last night in the rain it got real
touchy. Have to figure out what is going on here or, gasp!, I will have
to take it somewhere to get it fixed.

thanks for the happy vets day. happy vets day to all the other vets. (yesterday was also my b-day, feelin old at 24 lol)

anyway, i spent a while yesterday fitting my new grant challenger gt steering wheel in my rambler. looks great. matches the dash color. if anyone is interested in going with a grant steering wheel, the instalation kit they have listed for 67-69 ambasador, american, fit in my 62 classic. the trim ring aint quite the same outside diamiter as the ring around the turnsignal cam, it fits just inside of it, but it is not REAL visible. the GRANT part # for the hub that fits is 3162 for flat black, 5162-1 for polished billit aluminum. im not sure if it will fit more of the older amc's or not. just thought i would let people know i found somethin that actually fits on the old classics. now... its time to watch the race in pheonix.

  lawton, ok

This is really cool. This is the seller's store on ebay:
http://stores.ebay.com/Mr-Furys-General-Store
then search "AMC".

Anyone who might be making a miniature dealership like some of the ones I
have been tinkering with might go this route. Hands ain't as steady as they
used to be! Except with shotgun. But then you lose 1/2 the fun of smelling
the glue. What was I talking about. Oh, billboards.

Some of the mini dealerships and factories I have been building with the
boys have billboards:
(these will be goin on ebay at no reserve this month)
http://www.planethoustonamx.com/amcdealerships/amcdealership9.jpg

http://www.planethoustonamx.com/amcdealerships/amcdship22.jpg

http://www.planethoustonamx.com/amcdealerships/amcdship34.jpg

but those are handmade from HO scale train items. But they also have
original AMC stuff on them like hard to find ads. Still the seller's stuff
is great looking for anyone wishing to make miniature AMC things like
dealerships, factories, dioramas or if you have a train layout, how cool
would that be to sail the Burlington Northern of Missouri Pacific or Tex-Mex
loade with boxcars and such past a AMC place? Hmmm...more ideas.....

I have struggled hard with this decision but have decided I have to sell my Rambler Classic. I just don't have the time or money to do anything with it. Plus I have too many vehicles (2 eagles, American, Classic, GMC truck plus just aquired a Jeep Comanche and trying to buy another GMC truck). MODEL: Rambler Classic YEAR: 1966 BODY STYLE: 770 2 Door HardtopENGINE: 232TRANSMISSION: Automatic COLOR: White (I think it has black interior) MILEAGE: If I remember correctly it shows somewhere around 60,000 but I am guessing that isprobably 160,000 LOCATION: Spokane,WA E-MAIL ADDRESS: oconner51@xxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:oconner51@xxxxxxxxxxx>ASKING PRICE: $600 obo Engine has a severe knock and blows oil out the exhaust. I don't know if the engine would even be rebuildable. Missing parking brake pedal. When I aquired the car about two years ago it did not have any rust issues other than surface rust in the trunk. Trunk seal leaks. Windshield is cracked but I do have a replacement windshie!
ld for it. Interior is in bad shape. Brakes are bad. Would probably need entire brake system replaced. Needs tires. Would be a good winter project. I would prefer to see it go to someone who will fix it up rather than part it out. Last time we moved it (about a year ago) one drum kept hanging up. Includes owners manual.

A: The biggest problem I have found with them is the Orings swell up from
contamination and master cyl crud and jam the valve to one side.

I think some models will at least partially block the flow.
Probably
not enough ot affect braking though. I've looked at the cut-away
diagrams, haven't physically taken one apart. There were some
changes
in the designs over the years, so one range of years might block
flow
when tripped and some may not move over far enough. That's why I
put in
the "or at least cut it way down", but should have stated "at
least
some years will at least partially obstruct the flow", or
something
similar. I don't recall if it was early or late models that had
the
valves that at least appeared to block the flow when tripped.
More
likely late model disc brake valves. I know the old drum brake
valves
won't block the flow.
