It was swapped from I don't know where for sure onto a 79 304 along with a cast iron intake. I got the carb but it needs rebuilding. I took it apart and started cleaning it. Then I was forced to leave it lay for a couple weeks. Now I'm screwed and can't remember how the linkages go back together. Does anyone have an exploded view of one of these AFB monsters from I would presume a late 60's 290 or 343 four barrel engine. If I could get an exploded view I think I could reassemble the thing. Does the carb rebuild kit have an exploded view in the instructions??? Where is the best spot to find a good quality kit?? Thanks Armand ------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Sat, 04 Nov 2006 21:32:08 -0600 From: Teamamc <Teamamc@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [AMC-List] painting with tremclad. and patience To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <004f01c7008a$f90c7ae0$6700a8c0@FAST> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=2331682&page=0 &fpart=1&vc=1 Above is a really cool thread on painting a car with tremclad. $75.00 paint job and a roller. Unbelievable. I am going to try it. ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Sat, 4 Nov 2006 21:58:43 -0600 From: "Eddie Stakes" <eddiestakes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [AMC-List] who had the free 258-6? I don't remember who it was in NY(?) who had a free running 258, but heck, someone would end up with a sweet coffin nose here should they pursue it further. No bids at $367, the car is in NY city I think: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1974-AMC-MATADOR-4D-6-cyl-COFFIN-NOSE-Body-new-tires-74_W0QQitemZ330045999766QQihZ014QQcategoryZ6783QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Eddie Stakes' Planet Houston AMX 713.464.8825 eddiestakes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.planethoustonamx.com Email is currently HEAVY 5-12 day reply times, call if important ------------------------------ Message: 4 Date: Sat, 04 Nov 2006 22:47:05 -0600 From: Todd Tomason <jayscore@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [AMC-List] speaking of carburetors To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <200611042247.05909.jayscore@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Armand, Here's a company in Missouri that manufactures their own kits. I've heard of them, but don't know much about them. http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/Carbshop_kits.htm Todd On Saturday 04 November 2006 18:28, Armand Eshleman wrote: > I have a Carter AFB for an AMC. It's been there about a week, but there's still some parts left. I'm not sure how much longer it'll be there. Maybe a week or two. It was t-boned on the passenger side. It was a very nice car before it was hit. The quarters are rock solid, and there's no rust in the trunk. It looks like it was always garaged. There's an excellent aftermarket bnook on the Carter/Edelbrock carbs, Peterson (Petersen?) maybe. Totally worth buying. Called something clever like "Tuning Edelbrock Carburetors". ------------------------------ Message: 7 Date: Sun, 05 Nov 2006 02:47:22 -0500 From: "Brien Tourville" <hh7x@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [AMC-List] Speaking of Suspensions To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <454D50BA.9225.3404AE1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII check this freak : http://www.lextreme.com/sc430tt.html =Bt= milnersXcoupe ------------------------------ _______________________________________________ AMC-List mailing list AMC-List@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list End of AMC-List Digest, Vol 10, Issue 12 ****************************************
