Dave, I am currently working on a complete, Mustang II style bolt in suspension package for AMC. This would eliminate all of the stock suspension parts like the strut rods, ball joints, coil springs, tie rod ends, control arms, steering box and the engine cross member. This would all be replace with a fully contained cross member that incorporated a rack and pinion system with coil over shocks, modern style disc brakes and tubular a-frames. Not only will this free up space and cut a ton of weight off the front, the ride quality will be like that of a modern sports car. I hope to have this completed by spring. My first design will be for the 70 and up Javelin/AMXs. After that, work on what mods we have to do to work in a trunnion car and then other models if the market is there. When I get to a certain stage, I will be looking for pre-orders to gage whether the investment will be worth it or not. My goal is to have the complete front suspension set up ready to bolt in for around $2000.00. If you think of the price of a quality disc brake set up alone, this is very reasonable.
