Frank SNIP 3.31 gears would bring rpm @ 60 up to ~2300 =26mph/1000rpm 3.08 would be sufficient -- ~2100 rpm @ 60 = 28.6 mph/1000rpm 1900 rpm at 60 in 4th. = 31.5 mph / 1000 rpm SNIP Just out of curiosity, what is the weight of this J-10. My Spirit with P245 60 14 rear tires and a 2.53:1 final drive calculates out to about 32 mph/1000 rpm if I did my math right when I calculated it out and it basically grunts a bit on a 7% grade if you try to maintain freeway speed, or at least it did before the fuel injection was installed but for all practical purposes it handled hills and grades o.k. with the stock bbd carburetor. At that time though the basic engine was not stock. The compression had been raised to 9.0:1 and it was using an Iskenderian 256 Super Cam. The transmission is a 904 w/lock up torque converter. _______________________________________________ AMC-List mailing list AMC-List@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list or go to http://www.amc-list.com
