But to continue on into the newer wheels, the Dodge Caravan and Chrysler T&C used 16 and 17 inch wheels and have the same bolt pattern. I have a set of Ford Bronco aluminum wheels that look as if they will go on an AMC car with out interference as far as I checked at this point in time. I also have a set of 17 inch aluminum wheels that appear as they might work too from a T&C. Right now I am running the 16 inch Bronco wheels on my T&C as I blew 2 tires and shredded the tread on a third one all with in a weeks time and the Bronco Wheels had almost new tires on them. No sense in wasting good tires. With wheels of this nature you start getting some interesting off sets which may or may not work in the long run. AFAIK, no M-body four-door "AMC" ever was prototyped or modeled, only rendered. The one 118" R-body "AMC" built (and it was photographed in color) by an outside contractor was -not- what Lee wanted: not only were GM and Ford parts on it, but it looked more expensive than the St. Regis Touring; maybe even more elegant than the New Yorker Fifth Avenue. Chrysler was not keen on the production of a new Kenosha Cadillac. You may see those cars or the 115" Pacer-based "Matadors" or the 108" "last" Ambassador or the three final "faces" of AMX Turbo (plus design details, from grilles to wings to wheels to lighting) when you see a serious and stable state of AMC. Heck there are probably still more in existence today then 52 SS they made. How about the LS6 Chevelle that brought over 1mil. Restore you car to the best of your means. Take care of it and don't let it waste away. Some day that car might make a difference in your life. I applaud anyone who gets more than the last AMC of it's kind. I recall it was the American auto industry that played games with the truck category to slow imports down (remember the gyrations Subaru did with the Brat to get it to be a "truck"?) rather than >gasp< actually compete with them. I thought I caught a glimpse of a Machine wheel but it turns out it was the stock steel wheel from a 1990 Plymouth Voyager. They do have some similarities.
