" That's what you are looking for a 83-92 Ford Mustang length input. i've seen those numbers; 7.19" for '83-'93 5.0 t5s, 7.87" for '93-4 5.0 and 3.8; 7.41" for 4-cyl ford t5s. and 7.18" for amc. btw both 7.18 and 7.19 look to me like rounded decimalizations for 7 3/16. ford svt sells a t5 rated at 330 ft-lbs for $1000 or $1100, last i heard, and they have a 7.19" input. bw must have an aftermarket t5 with similar specs except for a more reasonable 0.8 5th [the svt's is 0.63, which would be great for a -6th-]. there's an argument for going with a 3rd party vendor though. most early cars want a shifter location more forward than the stock mustang's. the common trick is to use a chevy s-10 tailshaft housing, which has about the most forward location of any t5. a 3rd party could do this for you at little extra charge. you'll also want a gm or [i think] 4 cyl ford bearing retainer. the v8 fords have a 4.85" retainer diameter, but amc, gm, and i'm pretty sure 4-cyl fords have a 4.64" size. clutch disk and pilot bushing can come straignt from a t150 [late '70s] 3sp. output yoke too iirc, maybe even tranny mount. the other thing that makes sense to me is the 5speeds.com cluster stabilizer, a shimmable billet replacement for the stock sheetmetal cluster bearing retainer. if you're doing the tranny yourself, it would be easy to install the billet stabilizer and the 0.8 5th while swapping the s-10 tailshaft housing. ________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Hay the genius nature internet rambler is to see what all have seen adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought _______________________________________________ AMC-List mailing list AMC-List@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list or go to http://www.amc-list.com
