Tomorrow will be 3 years and around 15,000$ later I will have my orange Hornet. The undamaged original spare orange door is not on the car yet.The regulator in the original door is repaired. The replacement door needs the inside panels painted black as it has the same puke tan paint on it before it can be replaced with the slightly damaged door on the car. The inst. panel is back in the car. The new "Standard" brand headlight switch which a member of Bart's group told me was still available new (18$ ) seems to have fixed the dimming problem on the factory inst. lights. I feel sure if I put in a dome light bulb I am sure my dome light problem would be cured also. Also my gas gauge problem is cured. I seems one of the 2 nuts that hold the gas gauge to the printed circuit of the dash panel was more than hand loose. This seems to have caused a partial contact at times when the gauge worked but was not accurate and also why it didn't work at all at times. I still replaced gauge with one out of a Gremlin I got with a bunch of parts I bought from Davis at Bart's group. The gauge now seems to work but I will have to check it's accuracy. Being the PIA that I am these last 2 items were last on the long list of nit picking repairs that have annoyed me about this car since I bought it. Now all the factory options and systems work like when the car was new. I was 60 years old on the 15'th of this month so I conceder this a late birthday present. Since I rarely drive at night the dome light and inst lights were no real problem, but not working properly was a thorn in my side. the gas gauge annoyed me every time I looked at he inst. panel and had to calculate how much gas I had. The cigarette lighter even works. I am a happy man. Brad it was a pleasure to speak to you on the phone this morning.
