Total timing (cent for vacuum) should be 34 to 42 degrees and should be all in by 2000 rpm. Car is on wheels, tires are flat and may not hold air, non running will need winched onto trailer. I'm trying to see if I can get this car moved to Morgantown, WestVirginia or Western or Southern Pa area for pickup by me. The car is destined for the Junkyard if someone doesn't save it. Not looking for Charity, but I'm not rich either! Anyone interested? I doubt a commercial hauler will touch it as it will need some work to load it and I can't do anything in my current condition. Plus it is too far away. -- Mark Price markprice242ATadelphia.net Morgantown, WV ------------------------------ Message: 6 Date: Sat, 16 Sep 2006 10:26:12 -0700 (PDT) From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [AMC-List] 1981 Gremlin X-06 Cc: AMC List <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Message-ID: <Pine.LNX.4.64.0609161025330.6498@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII On Sat, 16 Sep 2006, Brien Tourville wrote: > Subject: [AMC-List] 1981 Gremlin X-06 > http://tinyurl.com/macsv No bids! If that is the case, they are unique to the body style as the bumpers are different on the other cars. So it would be that the shape is different. Now if we can figure all of this out, I need a right side (passenger side) bumper extensions for my 1980 SPIRIT both front and back. The sun finally rotted them - john Elle === === just to accent the difference in geography john, Arizona to Mid Hudson Valley, New York > the sun rotted the Spirit bumper ends, the acid rain shriveled mine > look like two used Saturday Night comdoms on a clear Wednesday sunny afternoon...... I sent eMails to everyone on PlanetHoustonAMX.coms' Vendor list - of which a great many came back undeliverable - if you're a Vendor - please update your eMail contacts there - I forwarded Ed all those returned to me - close to Ten - including those of some of our most noted AMC Vendors. eMail is the most used method of inquiry - don't lose sales ! John needs the Spirit passenger side bumper ends - I need the rear bumper ends - Kammback. Any leads appreciated ! The gear(s) inside the trans may be shot. (there is a drive gear and a driven gear) Are they on an eccentric like the later Mopar trannies? If so, you have to count the number of teeth and rotate the "plug" that goes into the trans so the arrow (on the housing) is facing the correct number range. From: "Gary L. I tend to believe it as I know the tranny is not original to the car, and the old cable had the tranny end hose clamped together. I always thought it was clamped because someone wanted to shorten it. I threw away the old cable. I have a new cable, it went in just fine, but neither of the heads that I have seem to work. Does anyone have any more thoughts on this and or some parts for sale? Also, I purchased an under dash AC system for this car. I think I am going to have to find a way to mount the Power steering pump elswhere, as I think the compressor goes where it is. This is the 232 motor. Does anyone have any thoughts and or parts for sale concerning this? Thank everyone for all their help with this, and in the past!
