Just my take on it. Not even intake gasket? Funny -- while I don't have your professional experience I've never assembled an AMC six WITHOUT the double-gasket set! Only 4 - 5 motors, but none have leaked, though one or two of them, the end nuts loosen. No vacuum leaks. I think this is one of those things, it's not night vs. day gasket or not. Both seem to work, but I tend to agree with you, more parts == more room for failure. > To each his own is exactly right on this one!
