This is the reason some cars have them and some don't and not all are in the same place. As the car came down the line the "build sheet" accompanied certain parts. Soemtimes the worker just left the sheet in the car, other times he didn't. Sometimes the sheet came attached to certain parts like the gas tank (check on top), the seats (check under the springs), the glove box (check on top), and under the carpet to name a few. Som,e have found them in the doors behind the door panel, and up, in the headliner. Hope this helps. The 1972 has front drum brakes and does not stop well. The 1978 has front discs. I hope to swap the whole front suspension out of the 1978, clean it up, and install it on the 1972. This brings me to the point of the this e-mail. I'm looking for a source for polyurethane bushings etc for the control arms and all of the "soft" suspension parts that bolt under that Gremlin. There seems to be quite a number and I'll put all new stuff in while it is apart. Do you sell or have a vendor that sells all of those components? I'll either buy a "kit" or individual parts - whatever you recommend. I appreciate any information you can give me. Best Regards, Larry L. I am still confused as to what makes a regular production car a prototype. One mentioned the build sheet. But build sheets were printed well in advance of models. For instance here is a 71 AMX build sheet: http://www.planethoustonamx.com/parts/71amxbuildsheet.JPG It don't make it a 69 prototype anything, it still makes it one of 2054 made in 1971. So while there is a blog on there, which is neat, I am still either stumped or missing something?
