What is the correct Master Cylinder replacement for my 74 AMX with Power disc brakes? The current one has a black cover, and I have seen others with the brass looking cover. Which is correct? The PS and alt brackets were taken for an Ambassador and we haven't found the bellhousing ring. (If it is the same ring as 360 then that will be covered once I do the trans change in my '73 J4000 which has the nailhead trans with adapter ring to later AMC V8) The starter bolts to the bell so I have doubts it will work. If the bell pattern isn't the same then it's a no go. _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! The cover itself is finished in gold dichromate plating which accounts for why you some with a brass finish. But the correct finish from the factory was to have the whole assembly painted a semigloss black. Hope this helps. Last time I looked they where fairly inexpensive. The only remainiing problem would be getting the proper shock. The weight of the vehcle, ride height, max extension and max compression are needed to do this correctly. -- Mark Price markprice242ATadelphia.net Morgantown, WV ---- francis.swygert@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > I think you're talkiing about me... The Statesman had a 196 L-head originally, but the Ambassador (longer wheelbase, but should be the same under the hood) had a 234 (or something like that) OHV in-line six.
