Joe, I don't know if that is the same problems that my '75 Gremlin had before we spliced the wire but if it is, when this wire decided to get flaky it would also do it on the fly, there were many times before I found out what the problem was that I would be driving down the highway and boom, no power whatsoever, the car just shut down. So you might want to re-think the only "no-fire" situation. Of course your mileage may vary.
