I've got plenty of driveshafts we can pick through and see if something fits
or comes close! Personally, I would go with an AW4/NP208C (with the Jeep
NP208 output shaft) combo for the shortest setup (I have both along with the
adapter ring for sale) without an axle swap, but I also have a 999 (from an
Eagle 4.2L) which will bolt directly up to the NP208J I have, and a 727 from
an FSJ ('81 Cherokee 6 cyl that lost a rod)
I have a 904 from a 4 cyl fuel injected XJ (core) along with the flexplate
(it'll also bolt up to the NP208J. Yes, I did test fit them! <G>)
I'm going to be posting all the excess stuff I have for sale soon as I
want to close out my storage locker (and not pay storage anymore) so I will
be posting a ton or two of parts over the next while. (I have a storage
locker that had my J10 in it along with a lot of this stuff and once my 18'
cube van is emptied out it'll be full one more time and even the van will be
for sale! (the plan is to pay off my cabin in less than 5 years and make it
livable at the same time so we don't have to pay rent while building a new
house)
I'm cc'ing almost all the lists I'm on to get them on notice of the
impending sale. (Wish I could go to the Monroe, WA swap meet with the van
loaded and sell it all at once!) Evilbay will be getting a ton of stuff
posted soon too. (Waiting for the next cheapo insert day after I make a
list!)

I've got access to a set of XJ axles...
I wonder if an XJ driveline would fit in a '48 cj-2a...
