">>You should contribute this information to the AMCArchives

Could or should, I still wait for some building to be erected that will
prove
an "American Center" for the AMC hobby. Long lists of links seem like
cottages
under shadow of skyscrapers, individual pages (like Colin Brodsky's)
seem to
sink into those shadows, and clunky web designs (pro work included) seem
to
eclipse the best-intentioned content. Who uses, who contributes, who
cooperates, and who supports all matter. What are AMC clubs for? To
preserve?
Yes. To promote? Of course. To profit? Fat chance. For the most
part,
Nash-Hudson-American Motors still seems a labor of love --- for those
who love
being American, independent, and different --- but they can build a
shining
tower topped by an AMC logo. They just need to aim higher, work harder,
act
smarter, and -cooperate-."

I tend to agree that there is no building, nothing like the Studebaker
Museum. The BEST public AMC related museum is in Hartford, WI, the
Hartford Auto Museum. To bad it's not in Kenosha, but the city/county
doesn't want to do anything but give a token showing. If I had the money
I'd buy out and remodel an old gropcery or department store -- that
would definitely be enough space! What with Super Wal-Marts being built
and "regular" ones and K-Marts closing in recent years, there should be
one in a good location somewhere. When I win the lotery I'll do just
that... Gotta start buying tickets...

In the mean time, NOT doing something because no one else has and it
doesn't seem that many are interested is a mistake. Not many people are
interested in an all AMC magazine, but I continue. If some of us don't
make efforts to preserve now, the history will be lost if/when something
DOES come about. There may never be a real AMC museum, but there will be
some archived data out there for those few who do care to find. Years
from now someone will discover AIM and wonder why it didn't take off,
but then there will be fewer still of "the faithful". It doesn't matter
how many (or few) there are, we have to work today to preserve what we
can if the history means anything to us, and we want it to mean
something later to others.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Doc! Maybe you'll recover in time to
hit one of the other shows that aren't to far away, or at least some
local cruise-ins. I'm looking forward to at least seeing pics of the car
later this summer! You've been doing a lot of painstaking work and it
should pay off in the long run.
