I want to replace the torque link bushings, preferably with urethane. I removed the three 3/8 bolts that hold the front bracket to the frame but it doesn't come off. I beat on it with my favorite tool, a 2 lb hammer with a 10 inch handle, but it doesn't budge.
questions. Does it come off? How do you take it apart to change the bushings?
any advice appreciated

First a question. I need to know of a mild wheel cleaning solution to do
my painted detail's wheels. The front ones did not come quite clean
because of the disc brake dust. I painted these wheel with Sherman
Williams acrylic enamel and clear coated them with Eastwoods Diamond
Satin Clear. I don't want to take the chance of using to harsh a cleaner
to ruin all my hours of hard work, but I want them clean. The rears are
fine. I spent 225$ having the original paint polished out 2 1/2 months
ago and with just a plain wash the car looks like it did then. Now I
just need to finish the grill resto and re-paint the double line black
factory pin stripe on both sides of the car. I doubt if I will have the
77 AMX flairs painted and on the car for the June 4th Ardsley show. I am
now also actively looking for a place to chrome my bumpers.

I think that you would find that a product called Spray Nine will get
the job done for you.
http://www.spraynine.com/
It may be a bit hard to find as it is a Canadian product and I am not
sure of its distribution in the states. It is available here at an ACE
Hardware store in Peoria AZ. The stuff works like magic. It has yet to
damage any surface that I have used it on and what it removes you would
not believe. It takes hard to remove brake dust off my aluminum and
painted wheels with no problem. It even removed the rubber tire marks
caused by running over a thrown truck tire recap and that can leave
serious gook on the car. It just wiped off with a bit of Spray Nine and
a paper towel.
In Canada it is commonly available at Canadian Tire but then again from
what I can tell so is almost everything.

Forwarding this for a member - AOL is having fits with the AMC List now due to all the bounces during the changeover:

As some of you know I recently purchased a '69 440 station wagon, which will form the basis of my SC/Rambler station wagon project. As a result I have put on eBay, a complete, turnkey project car package, my recently painted (pearl white) 1966 440 wagon with a 232-6 and a complete 1978 Concord 304 V8 hatchback. The item number on eBay is 4631949099. The reserve is reasonable (what I paid for just the 1966 wagon alone and far less than what I just paid for the 1969 V8) and I'm just a bit surprised at how many hits but how few bids the combination has generated. If anyone is interested (I prefer to sell to someone on the list) please drop me a line at autotronic@xxxxxxxx I would be happy to discuss in detail what I have to offer.

Hey buddy, good to see you on here again! The bracket definitely comes off,
but I suspect one of two things. Either it's been tack welded on somewhere
that's hard to see, or it's just that corroded on there. Advice: Hit it
harder with a bigger hammer.

1970 390 Service Replacement Motor Standard bore 4.165 Rebuildable complete
olong block with 291 heads Perfect motor for numbers matching car Service
Replacement"" Multi-Displacement Block There was also a ""Service
Replacement"" block made as a modified GEN-3 design. This is a 401 casting
(same casting number) without the displacement cast into the side and with a
360 bore and thicker deck. In theory this single block could be built as any
343-401 GEN-2 or GEN-3 engine. A dealer could stock one or two blocks to use
for warranty replacement. It was also sold as a heavy duty racing block,
which is speculated to be the real reason it was produced in the first
place. It appeared in 1970 in time for the 1971 Trans-Am racing season.
Since it was a standard factory part it did not have to be homologated under
T/A rules, and was not used in the 1501 ""Mark Donohue"" Javelins built to
homolgate the ""duck tail"" spoiler. Those received standard 360 or 401
engines. $3000.00 or best offer Joe Booth boothx3@xxxxxxxxxxx 315 737 0066

Hi, Thanks for this site. Due to a non AMC project I just bought Sorry:). I
have an assortment of parts and parts car. 1 is a 74 AMX 304 auto, hit in
the rear. 2. 73 javenlin 360 auto no front clip. 3. 1966 Rouge really decent
shape body w/ non-running 360 auto. I have the original engine and
transmission out of this car.290 auto. I also have 3 engines and
transmission that need rebuilding 290, 304, 343.Assorted torque flights. 1
parts car has twin grip diff. next to new dual exhaust. All cars have slot
wheels and caps and rings. I set turbine w/caps, good glass, doors. 1 cowl
hood, traction bars. 2 140 mph speedo cluster, 1 a/c car Cars are mostly
complete. My intention were to build 1 Javelin out of 2 and put a 401 in the
RougeThis is not going to happen., so all of this has to go. I'm not going
to pick parts off of these cars so a package deal would be best.I am willing
to sell these cars seperately. E mail for any questions. Ron Mitchell
