Hi all,
Just some "Ramblings"...
I've been watching the Barret-Jackson auction live from Palm Beach off and
on, but it gets boring; I mean, just HOW MANY $70K+ Chevelle's can you
look at?
Reminds me of the "Spring Spectacular" show at Daytona International
Speedway last weekend. Great showing of AMC's in the central show area,
but the car corral had exactly 5 AMC's, but easily 20 Chevelle's, of which
the crappiest had an asking price of $20K or so.
Last night, My wife, father-in-law, and myself went to the New Smyrna
Speedway to watch the races. Great value and fun, but what impressed me
were the kids driving these days! One of the mains was won by a 14 yr
old, and in the feature main, which was FASCAR Trucks, and 9th grader darn
near whooped the big-money backed winner. Kid didn't look big enough to
see over the wheel. Scott Bishop, remember that name, I think he's going
places.
It was fun to watch as one of the drivers was Jamie Skinner, son of
Crafstman Truck Series driver Mike Skinner (Earnhardt Sr's teamate yrs
ago), plus there were some other Roush and Gibbs backed teams, and the kid
beat almost all of them.
I told the wife, I need to bring out the old American, stab a 360 in it,
and go out there and show 'em what fer! Somehow, I don't think she
believed me...
