how much work are you willing to do?  if i were you, i wouldn't be
picky about ratio and/or posi; both are far easier to find than an
axle that fits.

the american rear is very narrow, and there are very few others even
close.

the best fit is probably a '70 +/- a year or two dart/valiant/cuda 383
8.75", but you'd have to redrill the hubs or get some custom axle
shafts like moser or strange, as these are all originally 5x4" bolt
circle.  and these rears are in some demand among mopar folk.

depending on just how big your motor is, a '74-6 dart/valiant 8.25" is
already 5x4.5" and might be strong enough.  they ran behind 318s
originally.

both these mopars have lh thd lugs on one side.

an early mustang 9" is very beefy [and very heavy] and might be close
enough to fit, especially if you're not running real wide wheels.
these rears are in so much demand you can get new semi-custom repro
rearends.

i've heard a '76-'80? narrow-track cj5/cj7 amc20 is the right width,
but again you have to change the bolt circle, in this case from
5x5.5".  but these axles have removeable hubs, so you can replace the
jeep ones with amc car ones.  some of these rears have off-center
diffs, depending on the 4wd system used.

and of course the original '66-9 american amc20, but they aren't
common.  by far most americans had sixes with the amc15 rear.
