not a lead, but all '64-'80[?] 01 series crossmembers interchange.

the '64-9 american rear track is very narrow - 55.5" +/- - and i'd
thought you were stuck with an american-only amc20, but recently heard
that a 'narrow track' cj5/cj7 amc20 ['76-'80?] also fits, but you have
to replace the 5x5.5" jeep hubs for 5x4.5" car ones.

if you're not an originality nut, a '74-6 dart/valiant 8.25" is also a
good fit and strong enough for 318s at least.
