unless that's a late '70s 232 with a t150 toploader 3sp or a rare
fleet-hd-option t86 or t15, forget it.  the tranny will frag in short
order under big v8 power.  if it is late '70s, use the 232 bell.

just for completion, if the tranny is a t-96 a '72-5 or so 232/258/304
3sp bell will bolt the 390 up, but you'll be cramming about twice the
torque that little peanut was designed for.  afaik there's nothing
for the 327.
