On a site called Jim's Marlin Page at:

he mentions the connector for the rear harness. It
is under the kickpanel on the driver's side, usually
tucked into a metal support there. He says that
usually that connector is the culprit for this sort of
thing, and on my cars he has been right six times out
of six. Also use a bunch of emery paper or a wire
brush on the lamp sockets where they clip into the
base of the housing. If you need the sockets
themselves, the HELP! section at Checker and Autozone
or the electrical area in any decent parts store or
Napa should have 1157's for cheap. It does sound as
if the turn signal switch may be at least part of the
issue, too. Most any GM up to the mid 80's seems to
work pretty well. On the later cars in this group, you
will have to go to the larger models.
