" Hi Eddie,
" Im going to upgrade my steering column to one that is collapsable (for
" safety) Its a 65 American. I would maybe even consider a tilt. Do you have
" anything, how much and how much to ship to Va Beach?
" Thanks, Gary Kirk 757 651-4513 most anytime
" Also, I need some good outside door handles
i'd suggest a '67-9 american column. it has a completely different
electrical connector but should otherwise be a bolt-in. btw it also
has 4-way flashers.
you'll also want to replace the steering box for one that has a
coupler instead of the spear-o'-death, but that can be any pre-'75
saginaw. [after the mid '70s ps became so common the manual box
mounting was changed to match. you could hunt up an american ps
adapter plate but why bother?]
for completeness i mention the saginaw #605 ps used on chevy vegas
also has the old-style manual gear mounting. it is much favored by
the '55 chevy crowd and that ilk.
