Mike,
The convertible bodies that I have seen all use different kick panels then the sedans and hardtops. They are two piece on the 65 Ambassador I am doing and I think you could cut a standard panel to work on the top half to have access to your vents then carpet the bottom section, but that is the only suggestion I have. Keep looking for the convertible pieces. I know that a lot of the pieces interchange back and forth from the big car to the little car on the convertibles, well maybe not a lot, but some. You may be able to use The Ambassador or classic lower pieces. If your in a hurry, get a set of sedans and see what you can do to make them fit. A good upholstery shop can cut carpet to cover the bottom and make it look right.

------>Joe, do you or anyone else know if these
kickpanels will fit a 66 American convertible? And how
far from LA is Salinas? I'll be running over to
Claremont in a couple weeks to pick up a 440
convertible with a V8, and it needs one of those
(driver's side). If I can't manage to pop over from LA
while I'm there, shipping to Phoenix shouldn't be too
much.
