Rear Axle Widths

No one has done this, so I will!
What I'd like to do is compile data on AMC rear axle widths. So if you have rear axle, preferably out of a car, I'd like you to measure it for me and record the measurement(s) and what model, year, and axle size (AMC 15 or 20 -- 15 has a drain plug in the back cover, 20 does not).

For this to be any good you MUST measure from these locations only, and more importantly, SPECIFY where the measurement was made when you send it to me:

1) With drums and wheels on: Top rear edge of backing plate to the same place on the opposite backing plate. Then measure the width of the drums across the top flat from edge to where it bends toward the hub. I need BOTH measurements if possible.
2) If the drums are off, hook a tape on one backing plate and measure to the inside top edge of the other backing plate (this measurement will be ~1/2" wider than #1)
3) If the wheels or drums are off and you have some help, take two known straight pieces of metal or wood and hold them vertically on the hub where the wheel sits near the studs and measure between them.

I'll compile a list then post the finished produce here on the list. This may take a couple months. Feel free to post your measurements here if you want, but please send them to me in e-mail (farna@xxxxxxx) also.
