I have never shipped glass, but I have received an AMX
side window from a private party.  The window was
wrapped in two or three layers of corrugated box on
each side and taped profusely into a tight package. 
If I were shipping side windows I would only ship it
insured and would package it similarly.  I would not
ship a windshield or backlight.

As Bruce would say. but hey........
